Pastor Casey Lieneman has been joyfully serving Redeemer Church since 2020.
Born and raised on a farm east of Beatrice, Pastor Casey grew up learning to trust and follow God while attending a Lutheran elementary school and worshiping at Zion Lutheran Church in Pickrell — lovingly known by its members as the “Cathedral of the Cornfields.” It was there he first experienced the power of God’s grace and the immense goodness of being part of a church family.
At the age of 12, while battling a misdiagnosed brain tumor, Casey began to sense God calling him into ministry. During that challenging time, he discovered an unshakable truth — even when life is dark and uncertain, God is always by our side.
In college, Casey met and married the love of his life, Corey. He completed his undergraduate degree in Secondary Education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where his passion for teaching began. He’s found that the skills he developed there have served him well in ministry, as he loves teaching Christians of all ages.
After college, Casey and Corey moved to Philadelphia, where he attended The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, graduating in 2012.
His first call led him to Christ Lutheran Church in Pierce, Nebraska, where he served from 2012 to 2016. When Corey felt God nudging her to pursue a Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology, the Lienemans moved to West Virginia, where Pastor Casey served a unique combined congregation, The Church of the Covenant, a Lutheran-Presbyterian church in Grafton. One highlight from his time there was leading a Mother’s Day worship service in the very same church where the first-ever Mother’s Day was celebrated in 1908.
The Lienemans have two boys:
Corey works as a child psychologist at Boys Town in Omaha, where she helps families navigate life’s challenges and make positive changes.
In 2020, the family welcomed Bo, their beloved (and occasionally mischievous) Aussiedoodle, who’s firmly convinced he runs the house.
Pastor Casey is a diehard Nebraska Cornhusker football fan and a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies fan. He starts his mornings with a workout and treasures any time spent with his family.
In ministry, Pastor Casey is passionate about evangelism and growing the church, and his heart beats for helping others encounter Jesus in meaningful ways. His favorite book of the Bible is the Gospel of John, particularly inspired by Jesus’ desire that we be one (John 17:21). He takes seriously Jesus’ Great Commission to “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19).
And if you enjoy a good laugh, you’ll appreciate that he includes a joke in every Sunday sermon — because joy is a gift from God too.

- Malachi ("Chi") is a 9th grader. Known for his kindness and strong work ethic, Chi dreams of becoming a diesel mechanic.
- Benjamin ("Benny") is a 6th grader. Always on the go, Benny loves sports, especially baseball, and hopes to play in college — or take the game as far as his love for it can carry him.
