Pastor Casey Lieneman has been joyfully leading Redeemer Lutheran since 2020. He was born and raised on a farm east of Beatrice and learned to trust and follow God while attending a Lutheran Elementary School in Beatrice and worship at a beautiful country church, Zion Lutheran of Pickrell. The folks there lovingly call it the Cathedral of the Cornfields. That’s where he learned of God’s grace and the immense goodness of having a church family. He began hearing God’s call to enter ministry as he battled a misdiagnosed brain tumor at the age of 12. It was during this time that he learned that even when everything seems dark and scary in life, God is always by our side.
Pastor Casey met and married the love of his life, Corey, in college. He completed his undergraduate in Secondary Education at Nebraska-Lincoln. He feels many of the college courses taken in teaching has proven beneficial in his ministry. He loves teaching Christians of all ages. After college, Casey and Corey moved to Philadelphia where pastor went to seminary at The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, graduating in 2012.
He was blessed with a terrific first call at Christ Lutheran in Pierce beginning in 2012. His time in Pierce ended as Corey felt the nudge to pursue a PhD in Child Clinical Psychology from West Virginia beginning in 2016. Life in West Virginia was great for the Lieneman family. A beautiful state with good hearted people. While there are far far fewer Lutherans in West Virginia, he was fortunate to be pastor of a combined Lutheran-Presbyterian Church, The Church of the Covenant in Grafton, WV. One of the highlights for Pastor Casey in West Virginia was leading a Mother's Day worship service in the actual church that hosted the very first Mother's Day in 1908.
The Lieneman family has two boys. The oldest is Malachi, he goes by Chi, is a 7th Grader. Chi is very kind and has a great way of making friends. His dream is to one day be a farmer. The family's youngest son is Benjamin, but he goes by Benny, he is a 4th Grader. Benny is always on the go and loves playing sports. He hopes to one day be the starting RB for the Cornhuskers leading them back to their glory days of old. Corey works as a Psychologist at the Medical Center in Omaha. She works with children and truly enjoys her work. The family welcomed in their first pet in 2020, an Aussiedoodle named Bo, who is spoiled rotten and loves chewing on things...sometimes to the dismay of the family.
Pastor Casey loves baseball, Philadelphia Phillies fan, and he's a diehard Nebraska Cornhusker Football fan. He enjoys working out first thing in the morning and spending time with his family. He is passionate about evangelism and growing the church. His favorite book of the Bible is The Gospel John and believes we need to work at fulfilling Christ's desire that we be one (John 17:21). He takes seriously Jesus’ command to spread the Gospel and make believers of all nations (Matt. 28:19). He loves to laugh and includes a joke in his Sunday message every week.
In Christ,
Pastor Casey Lieneman
